What made you decide
to play the instrument you play? Well, to support
my $500 a day coke habit, I decided to get a job in the
music business (I played the big guitar in a Mariachi
band at a Mexican restaraunt). As luck would have it,
one day while singing Feliz Cumpleaños Amigo,
some Italian guy eating huevos rancheros told me I had
the perfect voice for Opera. After 6 weeks of operatic
training, my voice graced the largest concert halls in
the world (not to brag, but my Carmen is second
to none). Unfortunately, a bizarre gardening accident
scarred my vocal cords and put an end to my dreams of
becoming the 4th Tenor. Despondently I contemplated suicide,
but a dear friend (David Hasselhoff) informed me that
my now mutilated voice was perfect for heavy metal. Unfortunately,
I looked goofy holding a mic stand or even just a mic,
so I was forced to draw on my former guitar prowess (from
El Compadre, as you'll remember) to transform myself into
the mean, tougher than nails badass frontman I have become.
Of course, this is a complete fabrication, but the true
story is one so dark and convoluted that most would run
screaming from their computers in absolute terror. So
that will have to suffice.
Best and Worst
stage experiences: Best: Any performance where
the audience gives back even a fraction the amount of
energy I leave on that stage. Worst: See, there was this one
time Andy and I dropped some Ecstasy before the show and well,
lets say it was a good time...for me...not for Andy...or the audience...
I fear I've said too much.
